The La-Z-Boy recliner range has dozens of different styles and options. Most La-Z-Boy styles have matching two and three seat sofas.

The Jason La-Z-Boy mechanism offers many features not available on other recliners (see box below). Most importantly, it allows people with back problems to sit in Keegan’s Normal Posture – the position that takes most weight off the lower back.

Most “non La-Z-Boy” reclinersuse a variation of the mechanismto the left. It has a single positionfootrest, and a single position backrest. Additionally, the footrest must be pushed awaywith the legs. This is difficult for people withback, hip, knee or leg strength problems.

The La-Z-Boy Fitted Chair

The bases on La-Z-Boy recliners can be adjusted to suit an individual’s leg length. There are three different base heights. Chairs usually come on a “standard” base, but can easily changed onto an intermediate-high base (one and a half inches higher) or a high base (2 inches higher). The high base option is only recommended for people who are between 5’6” and 5’9” with long legs, or people who are over 5’10”. Raising the chair off the ground makes it easier to get out of the chair. It also provides a more comfortable sitting position for people with long legs. The Famous Jason La-Z-Boy Rocker Recliner Mechanism.

The patented Rocker Recliner mechanism offers hundreds of different sitting positions. Other recliner mechanisms have only three positions available: sitting, sitting with feet up, and fully reclined. (See box below). The La-Z-Boy Reclinaway mechanism offers another option. This mechanism does not rock, and slides forward as it reclines back allowing the chair to be located against a wall. This mechanism can be fitted to almost any La-Z-Boy recliner, and is used in all reclining sofas. La-Z-Boy Handle Operated MechanismThe La-Z-Boy mechanisms are all handle operated and are recommended for people with back or leg problems. Most recliner brands require pushing down with the legs to put the extended footrest away. This puts pressure on the hips, knees, and lower back.

The All New Jason La Z Boy Luxury Lift

Jason La Z Boy have now come up with a new electric lift chair. Called the "luxury lift" at the touch of a button your chair will recline back to a full lying down position. Then at the touch of another button it will return you to a sitting position and then progress further upright to alllow you to walk straight out of your chair. This is a great idea for someone who struggles with the regular La Z Boy lever recliner but still wants the absolute comfort of a Jason La Z Boy. This chair is available in three comfortable models.
